Established on March 8th, 1998, Northern International Group is combined by the advanced enterprises among state-owned foreign trade companies in Tianjin and it is the first sizable foreign trade group and one of the 20 key supported groups approved by Tianjin Municipality. Also it is one of the two close connected enterprises in Tianjin by Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. The core enterprise of the group is Northern International Holding Co., Ltd. with registered capital of RMB239 million and total assets of about RMB3 billion. Its import and export volume in 2001 is US$440 million and export volume is US$378 million and US$450 million and US$403 million respectively in 2002. The holding company ranks with the 500 top import & export enterprises and the 200 largest exporters in China and the 2nd of the 50 top exporters in Tianjin. The holding company and all of nine close members of the group have set up the modern enterprise system and approved ISO9002 International Quality System. Seven import and export enterprises of them are among the top 50 exporters in Tianjin.
