CCCT Holds the 9thChina Textile and Apparel Industry¡¯s President Summit

 On 20th October 2014, CCCT held the 9th China Textile and Apparel Industry’s President Summit in Shanghai Sheraton Hongqiao Hotel. The summit was chaired by Jiang Hui, Chairman of CCCT. Also present were Zhang Xi’an, Secretary General of CCCT, and more than 140 executives from over 80 major companies and relevant agencies in textile and apparel industry.   

The meeting started on 14:30 on that day. Commissioner Zhang Guoqing Director Zhang Xianbin and Specialist of Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange Ji Guangpo gave speeches about the following topics respectively: favorable policies of Shanghai Free trade zone and the opportunities for textile and apparel industry; policy direction of cotton; the trend and dynamic of domestic cotton and yarn securities, which generated great interests among audience. Later in the dialogue session, President Zhu Yong of Shangtex, President Xu Weimin of Shanghai Silk Group, Chairman Yan Zhenming of Hong Kong General Chamber of Textiles, and President Guo Jian from Jiangsu Yunfu Fashion exchanged views about industry development and potential challenges. They also shared their best practices in enterprise transition, outbound investment and brand building. Then Senior Vice President of Lightinthebox Lv Yong, Masa Maso and CEO Sun Hong gave speeches about the future of textile and apparel cross-border e-commerce and the significant impact of internet on the industry. Representatives had a heated discussion about these topics.  

This summit has been well received among the invited guests. Orient International Holding and Luthai Textile commended CCCT’s contribution in their speeches. It is widely held among enterprises that the Summit initiated by CCCT has provided a platform for companies to exchange news with and learn from each other and they will join hands with CCCT to continue their commitment in making China’s textile and clothing industry stronger.

In closing remarks, Chairman Jiang Hui emphasized that CCCT will keep on providing good services for enterprises to let their voices be heard, building up platforms to strengthen cooperation and communication between Chinese and overseas enterprises, and making sure the industry is having a sound and orderly development. In the end, it was agreed that the next summit would be held by Luthai Textiles on 18th March, 2015.
