In 2020, with the strong support of the “stabilizing foreign trade policy” and the joint efforts of all exporting trade enterprises, China’s textiles and garments withstood the huge impact of the epidemic, and achieved rapid growth in exports throughout the year, becoming an important motivational driving force for the growth of national trade in goods.
According to data released by the General Administration of Customs of China on January 14th of 2020, China's textile and apparel exports totaled US$291.22 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.5% over 2019, driving the overall export of goods trade across the country to increase by 1%. Among them, textiles have achieved growth for 9 consecutive months since April, and clothing sector has reversed its decline since August, achieving growth for 5 consecutive months.

From January to December 2020, the turnover of imports and exports of goods trade reached 32.1 trillion Yuan, up by 1.9% year on year, the value of the exports was 17.9 trillion Yuan, up by 4% year on year, and the value of the imports was14.2 trillion Yuan, down by 0.7% year on year.
In December, foreign trade imports and exports were 3.2 trillion Yuan, up by 5.9% year on year, of which exports were 1.85 trillion Yuan, up by 10.9% year on year, and imports were 1.34 trillion Yuan, down by 0.2% year on year,.

From January to December 2020, the total value of imports and exports of goods trade amounted to US$4.64 trillion, up by 1.5% year on year, of which exports were US$2.59 trillion, up by 3.6% year on year, and imports were US$2.05 trillion, down by 1.1%year on year.
In December, foreign trade imports and exports were US$485.68 billion, up by 12.9% year on year, of which exports were US$281.93 billion, up by 18.1% year on year, and imports were US$203.75 billion, up by 6.5% year on year.

From January to December 2020, the total exports value of textiles and clothing amounted to 2021.58 billion Yuan, up by 10.2% year on year, of which textile exports were 1069.55 billion Yuan, with an increase of 30.4% year on year, and clothing exports were 952.03 billion Yuan, with a decrease of 6% year on year. In December, textile and apparel exports were reached 172.67 billion Yuan, down by 1.5% year on year, of which textile exports were 81.04 billion Yuan, up by 4.7% year on year, and clothing exports were 91.63 billion Yuan, down by 6.4% year on year.

From January to December 2020, textile and apparel exports totaled US$291.21 billion, with an increase of 9.5% year on year, of which textile exports were US$153.83 billion, up by 29.2% year on year, and clothing exports were US$137.38 billion, down by 6.4% year on year. In December, textile and apparel exports were 26.2 billion US dollars, with an increase of 7.2% year on year, of which textile exports were 12.29 billion US dollars, with an increase of 12.7% year on year, and clothing exports were 13.91 billion US dollars, with an increase of 2.7% year on year.
