The leading garment manufacturer of Taiwan, Makalot Industrial Co., registered revenue NT$14.126 billion (US $455.68 million) in 2010. This is the second highest revenue of its kind recorded within a decade’s time. The highest revenue was registered by the company in the year 2007 which stood at NT$14.7 billion (US $474.19 million).
The company has set up its production bases in several countries of Asia such as China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Philippines and also El Salvador in Central America apart from Taiwan.
The Chairman of the company, L.P. Chou, revealed that the company performed reasonably well in 2010 because of the recovery from the economic slump and this year also it is expected to perform better in terms of its business.
He further said that in spite of the appreciation in the value of New Taiwan dollar as compared to the US dollar, the average quotation for orders in the first three months of the current year has been raised by 10 percent and may again increase by another five percent in the next quarter.
