 Brief Introduction  China National Textiles Import and Export Corporation (Chinatex) was founded in November, 1951, and handles mainly the import and export of all sorts of textile materials, semi-finished-and-finished textile products, garments, knitwear and other commodities with the government approval. The company also acts as agent for importing & exporting above mentioned products. It also engages in joint-ventures, co-production, manufacturing with imported materials and according to customers designs and samples, spare parts assembling, import & export of technology, compensation trade, counter & barter trade, re-export, exploitation of high and new technology and transferring of its project, consulting on enterprise resources planning (ERP), international shipping & cargo handling, advertising, consultation service on commodity exhibition, labour & service export, technology exchange, etc.. By means of joint venture and co-management, Chinatex also participates in domestic wholesaling and retailing, textile & garment manufacturing, hotel management and other business activities. In its early years, Chinatex annual business volume was merely some tens of millions of U.S. Dollars. In the past decades, in keeping with the enterprise spirit of Unity, Creativity, Tenacity and Practicality and through pains-taking efforts, Chinatex has made outstanding contribution to the development of the country's foreign trade in textiles. Meanwhile, Chinatex has become a powerful and large-scale company with its assets in terms of both quantity and quality listing among the forefront of China's foreign trade enterprises. The company not only commits itself to explore and develop Chinese textile export, but also engages in importing textile fiber materials in short supply on the domestic market. This offers a lot of trade opportunities for businessmen in the field of international textile fiber. Since the reform and opening of China's economy, to adapt itself to the socialist market economy, Chinatex has been making great effort to put forward the enterprise reform and conversion of enterprise mechanism. As a result, the company has strengthened its trade function steadily, put forward industrial investment firmly and built up a more solid operation base. Now, Chinatex owns over 20 domestic subsidiaries direct under itself and more than 20 branch offices in the five continents. These organizations form a well-integrated business network.
