Established in Oct. 1988, the China
Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles (CCCT) has a membership of
more than 11,000 companies in March 2009, representing 70% of China's total
import and export trade in textiles and clothing. CCCT represents the most of
China's textile and clothing sector in international trade.
Since China's accession to the
WTO, in parallel with the development of the country's textile and clothing
industry and trade, CCCT has been increasingly proactive in expanding
international communications by setting up relations with trade organizations in
the U.S., Japan, Korea, France, Italy and Germany, to name but a few. As the
representative of the industry, CCCT has carried out negotiations and dialogues
with foreign governments and related associations, aiming to help solve trade
disputes. CCCT has become an intermediary organization in China's textile and
clothing trade with strongest international influence.
Sticking to its purpose of
"coordination, guidance, consultation and service", CCCT has always been
devoted to promoting China's textile and clothing trade. CCCT actively helps
its members deal with trade-related problems and safeguards the legitimate
interests of the industry and member companies. On the other hand, CCCT is also
committed to implement tasks entrusted by the government and offer proposals and
references for government policy-making. Through its efforts, CCCT has played an
important role in linking its members to the government as a bridge.
The year 2005 is to witness the
final integration of international textile and clothing trade into the WTO. The
post-quota era will provide unprecedented opportunities for Chinese textile and
clothing enterprises as well as their counterparts from other countries to
develop trade and cooperation. Meanwhile, broader space will become available
for CCCT to further play its role. We warmly invite more textile and clothing
enterprises to join us, and wish to build up partnership and develop cooperation
with more trade organizations and businesses in other countries with a view of
promoting the healthy development of world textile and clothing trade.
