中国中纺集团公司原名中国纺织品进出口总公司）创建于1951年，是以纺织品对外贸易和实业为主业的大型企业集团。下属有30余家子公司、海外企业以及40家各类生产企业，从事着从纺织原料到成衣所有纺织服装产品的生产和销售，拥有分布在海内外的棉田、棉纺厂、印染厂、毛条厂、针梭织成衣生产基地，年经营额保持在18亿美元。中纺集团公司目前是中国最大的棉花贸易商，是中国棉花交易市场发起人之一，是澳大利亚羊毛拍卖市场重要的采购商和中国最大的羊毛进口商，是中国最大的成衣出口商之一，在全国纺织贸易与实业企业中名列前茅。与此同时，公司在机械制造、音像、能源新材料和文化广告等行业中的投资业务取得了长足的进展，并与中国著名大学合作设立了科技开发基金，致力于高科技研发业务。中纺集团公司正在向着成为具有国际竞争力的纺织服装企业集团的方向大步迈进。

Chinatex Corporationprevious name was China National Textiles Import and Export Corporation,was founded in 1951. Chinatex is a large-scale enterprise group engaged mainly in foreign trade and production of textiles, with a stable annual turn-over of USD 1.8 billion, and boasting of more than 30 subsidiaries, overseas enterprises and 40 manufacturing plants of various types. Their business covers production and sales of all textiles ranging from raw materials, yarns and fabrics, to ready-made garments. Chinatex has its own cotton mills, printing and dyeing plants, wool-top processing factories, knit-wear and woven garment manufacturing bases and cotton plantation, located across the country and overseas. While remaining the biggest cotton trader and wool importer in China , Chinatex stands also as one of the initiators of Chinese cotton exchange market and an essential buyer at the Australian wool auction market as well as one of the largest Chinese clothing exporters. It ranks among top Chinese textile trading and manufacturing enterprises. Meanwhile, Chinatex has also made considerable headway in investment in the fields of machine-making, audio & video products, energy, new materials , cultural establishments and advertising agencies. It also participates in hi-tech research and development projects in cooperation with a famous Chinese university through a jointly set up R/D fund. At present, Chinatex is taking long strides towards the goal of a textile and garment enterprise group with international competitiveness.
Assisted by a world famous strategy-consulting company, Chinatex has mapped out its medium and long-term development strategy. It will strive to gain the dominant position in textile and garment industry and commerce and the related multi- businesses, and become a WISE type worldwide, innovation, service, and education enterprise, i.e. worldwide operation; constant innovation and seeking excellency; developing high value-added products, and providing client-oriented and comprehensive value-added services and pursuing the increase of integral value of the company; and promoting the rapid growth of the company and upgrading the individual value of the staff through constant education. To this end, Chinatex has reconstructed its management and organizational set-up, reorganized its relevant business and established three business units: Garment SBU ,Fabric SBU and Raw Materials, Yarns & Piece-goods SBU , in addition to Investment Administration to develop new business.
