公司创始于一九八三年，原名嘉兴市进出口公司粮油食品土畜产分公司。一九九七年改制后转型成国有相对控股的专业外贸公司，2000年进行第二次股份制改造，国有股退出，2004年又更名为嘉兴良友进出口集团有限公司，现有注册资本3000万元。
公司自改革开放以来，特别是经过九七年改制，公司进出口贸易取得了长足的发展，二ΟΟ三年公司本部进出口贸易额已超过了壹亿美元。出口商品有纺织、服装、皮革制品、轻工业品、手工艺品、电子、家电、机械、五金、化工等近千种商品，贸易方式灵活多样，客户遍布六十多个国家和地区，建立了较为稳固的国际营销网络。
公司在不断加强自身建设发展的同时，朝着主业扩张、多元化发展，工贸结合等方向作出了一些重要举措，并取得初步成果，已投资组建了浙江信诺进出口有限公司（shiner）、嘉兴海发进出口有限公司（hifine）、嘉兴新万运进出口有限公司（newway）、上海浙良进出口有限公司（shanghai layo），另外有控股和参投企业浙江秀洲置业有限公司、嘉兴市良友木业有限公司和嘉兴市良友电子有限公司等，在嘉兴市余新建有嘉兴良友科技工业园区，有有嘉兴良友投资有限公司。

Established in 1983,Jiaxing Layo Imp. & Exp. Group Co., Ltd. former name: Jiaxing Imp. & Exp. Co. Cereals Oils & Foodstuffs, Native Produce & Animal By-Products Branch is a joint-stock company, specialized in foreign trade.
With continuous self-construction and development, we taken important measures towards expanding main business, diversification in operation, collectivization, and integrating industry with commerce etc, and already attained preliminary success. We have reconstructed four subsidiary companies: Jiaxing Hifine Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd.， Zhejiang Shiner Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd. ，Jiaxing Newway Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd. ，Shanghai Layo Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd. Besides we hold or co-invested some other companies such as Zhejiang Xiuzhou Real Estate Co., Ltd.， Jiaxing Layo Electronic Co., Ltd.， Jiaxing Layo wood Industry Co., Ltd. etc. In 2004, the total export value will exceed USD200 million.
We are mainly engaged in textiles, apparel, light industry products, chemical products, machinery, hardware, electrical machines, household appliances etc. With quick and flexible mode of business we have set up the steady international marketing network. The customers spread all over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Total trade amount is increasing rapidly every year. In 2003,the headquarters of the company export value reached USD111 million.
